A wonderful dinner

After changing hotels from Scandic Europe to Elite Park Avenué Hotel (still in Gothenburg) Andy and I decided to make sure to have a great dinner tonight.

We scouted the internet and found several great places but we decided to have dinner at Meet Göteborg.
Meet Göteborg is a Steak House and had some great reviews. And most importantly consistant reviews and it just to make it better it was less than a block from the hotel.

We left the hotel and walked the block to the resturant that really didn't seem like a whole lot - a very low key resturant. We arrived at 5 p.m. And we're seated straight away and the resturant was filling up quickly.
A quick browse if the menu showed some great choices and some amazing meat dishes.

Unfortunetly we just weren't hungry enough to eat a starter and main course as well as desert. So we decided to skip the starters and go straight for the main course.

Andy and I both LOVE good pieces of meat. And it's funny, cause I'm usually not really a meat kind of a girl. But this is why I could NEVER become a vegetarian, I soo love a really great steak.

Although, I was almost wishing that we were hungry enough because there were some great choices for starters. For example Värnen caviar in traditional form with butter fried brioche, Lobster three ways, steak tartar "Wagyu" Kobe, carpaccio "Wagyu" Kobe, Honey baked goats cheese, Seared Fois gras and Meet's BLT. Sounds pretty good right?

We decided to start of with a great bottle of red Amarone wine. Amarone Della Valpolicella, my favorite bottle of wine.

The resturant serves two kinds of breads, sour dough and dark rye, with a cream cheese as a amuse.

Meet Göteborg has a classic menu as well as main courses. Today the main courses were Meet's Beef Skewers, Tournedos Rossini, Leg of lamb and Steamed Halibut all served with brilliant sides.

But Andy and I were more attracted to their classic menu of meats such as grilled Texas Entrecôte, grilled Swedish Entrecôte, Swedish grilled Serloin Steak, grilled Swedish fillet, grilled lamb racks, Wagu beef and grilled Tuna. The meats were offered in two sizes. These are served with two choices of a large variaty of sides, home made fries, rissotto, potatoe gratain, root crisps, gnocci, several salads and several sauces. Large selections right?

Andy choose a grilled Texas Entrecôte with home fries and a chili bearnaise sauce.

I had a grilled Swedish Ox fillet with a potatoe gratain with garlic and a bearnaise sauce.

Oh my! Both meats were absolutly brilliant, melt in your mouth meats. It was spectacular! I can't say anything bad about these meat or sides.

Unfortunetly we were to full to have desert because there were some great choices, a cheese platter, crème brûlée, milk chocolate pannacotta, vanilla ice cream with nougat foam and home made truffles. All in all a really great dinner at a great restaurants with awesome food. Brilliant!

So if you're in Gothenburg and want to have dinner at a great steak house then visit Meet at Geijersgatan 12. Enjoy!

Thanks Andy for a really great dinner. Love you!
