Iron Chef marathon 2

Alltså, jag sitter på jobbet och det finns verkligen ingenting att göra, och därför sitter jag och kollar på ett av mina favorit program, Iron Chef, på YouTube. Det är jättebra och eftersom jag inte har kanalen, TV400, som sänder programmet så har jag ju missat väldigt många program och då är det väldigt trevligt att programmet finns att kolla på nätet. Tur att min chef har varit inne idag och vi har redan pratat om att det inte händer så mycket idag, så att det kankse är ok att jag kollar på TV under arbetstid

Myrorna

Jag var på myrorna här om dagen för att kolla om dom hade några fina gamaldags kaffe koppar, men det hade dom inte, däremot hade dom en väldigt söt liten gjutjärnskittel som kostade 5 kr. Jag tycker den var grymt söt, och jag vet att när Adde och jag kollade på det nya matlagningsprogrammet på TV400, Vad blir det för mat? (tror jag det heter iaf) så hade Per en liknande kittel, fast lite lite större tror jag. Adde sa att han tyckte den var snygg.

Det är väldigt roligt att gå in på Myrorna eller andra second-hand butiker och hitta små juveler som kommer pryda mitt och Adde’s framtida hem. Ser nu att den ser ganska smutsig ut men den är inte det på riktigt.

Arne Dahls Dödsmässa

Jag har precis läst klart, Arne Dahls Dödsmässa, som gjorde mig positivt överaskad. Jag vet att jag tidigare har läst Arne Dahl böcker, men dom har inte varit så himla bra. Den här var spännande och lättläst, i stort sett så blev den sträck läst. Den handlar om ett gisslan drama i en bank och sen konsekvenserna av den. Mycket underhållande om man gillar kriminalromaner. Det är tydligen den 7:e boken i en 10 boks-serie, så man kanske vill läsa de 6 andra böckerna innan kanske?

Snakes on a Plane

Filmen Snakes on a Plane är grymt bra, faktiskt, även om den låter som en otrolig B-film så är den väldigt underhållande. Den är lite små läskig, den är aktion fylld, Samuel L Jackson har huvudrollen, töntiga skämt - all in all - filmen är faktiskt sevärd! Det ända som är lite små dumt, är att boa ormen Kitty (tydligen kallades hon det av film-teamet) har tänder, extremt många tänder och hon ser grymt fejkad ut. Det är ju lite trist tycker jag, eftersom det hade varit mer läskigt om ormen såg riktig ut. Den ultimata filmen - om man nu gillar såna här riktiga actionfilmer - och det gör jag.

New shoes

Dom här skorna köpte jag igår, och jag gillar dem skarpt. Dom är jättesköna att gå i och dom är riktigt flickiga. Här är inlägget om varför jag behövde köpa nya skor.

Detta är mina vårtecken, mina solglasögon kommer fram (jag kan inte gå ut utan dom för då får jag nästan alltid migrän), en pocketbok i handväskan (man vet ju aldirg när man har tid att sitta en stund i solen) och fina skor (äntligen kan man gå utan strumpor och skorna är fina och nätta igen).

Fjällen 2007

Förra veckan var jag och fästmannens familj i fjällen, i Storfjäten för att vara exakt. Familjen har åkt iväg 7 år i rad nu och det här är mitt andra år. Det är alltid lika mysigt, vi åker upp till fjällen och sen åker vi skoter nästan varje dag och vissa av oss åker slalom och längd. Jag tycker det är skönt att bara komma iväg lite och läsa ikapp några böcker. I år var det lite sämre väder än förra året, eftersom snön hade börjat smälta, men som tur var snöade det massor dom första två dagarna vi var uppe. Olyckligtvis fick jag nån skum släng av något kvällen vi kom upp, så jag låg helt utslagen hela kvällen och nästa dag. Men det försvann sen som tur var, jag mådde lite konstigt, var extremt trött och så men jag mådde i alla fall inte extremt dåligt som jag hade gjort första dagen.

Åka skoter är en av de bästa grejerna som finns just nu, jag älskar det, ibland i alla fall, när Adde inte åker så fort att vi bara åker på en med, men annars har jag vant mig med att han åker snabbt och jag tycker inte att det är läskigt som jag gjorde förra året. I år var det bara roligt

Tänkte dela med mig lite av dom fina foton jag tog under skooter turerna så att ni får en liten känsla av hur vackert det var.

Utsikten från stugan, man ser Fjätervålen fjället i bakgrunden.

Skotrarna som vi hyrde, självklart åkte vi med hjälm. Det gick väldigt fort ibland, men säg inte till någon.

Fjällen är ju så extremt vackert, jag älskar landskapet. Man fattar inte riktigt hur mycket snö det är tills man ser en trädkrona sticka ut ur marken

Från fjällstugan där måååånga våfflor och varm choklad har intagits i solen. I alla fall för dom som tycker om varm choklad

Vissa av oss har druckit Cola Light.

Den riktige fotografen, Adde, i hög form. Ska man ta dom häftiga bilderna måste man vara beredd på att ligga i.

På vägen hem såg man ut över sjön, och det är så himla häftigt att tänka sig hur det skulle se ut på sommaren när isen har smällt och allt är grönt.

Fotografen är även en wannabee Power Ranger ibland, men bara ibland. Snygg är han i alla fall.

Väl hemma igen sätter vi oss i bastun en stund och kopplar av, en heldag på skooter kan göra ont i kroppen och då är värmen och en kall öl i stort sett allt man kan behöva. Eftersom bastun hade ett fönster kunde vi också njuta av solnedgången och mös och njöt flera gånger om.

En otroligt trevlig resa, Tack familjen E att jag fick följa med även i år.

Happy Birthday Baby

Min älskling fyllde ju år när vi var i fjällen. Han bli gammal, lite äldre i alla fall, haha

Jag gav honom sin födelsedags present rätt mycket innan eftersom han behövde den med en gång. Han fick en A5 skin Filofax som han ville ha, eftersom han behövde det till det nya jobbet. Den är jättefin, hoppas han gillar den.
Till frukost fick älsklingen ett ägg. Ett litet inside-skämt mellan Adde och hans mamma och pappa.

Vi firade med en tre-rätters måltid som A (Adde’s mamma) lagade. Middagen var otroligt god och något annorlunda. Förrätt var en avokado halva med räk röra, vilket var grymt smaskigt. Avokado är underbart gott. Med öl till.

Till middag blev det renfile samt fläskfile med klyftpotatis och bearnaisesås samt gräddsås. Otroligt gott. Som ni ser är tallrikarna lite smått charmiga, lite 70-tal över dem kanske. Fanns en hel uppsättning i stugan som vi bodde i. Vin var självklart serverat till.

Grattis min älskade! Du är fantastisk och jag kommer alltid att älska dig. Jag hoppas att du alltid vill vara min.

Oh poor Shoeaholic

This morning on my way to work, I walked out of my apartment and got into my car (well actually my mom’s car, since I’m borrowing her car while she is on vacation, and left my car in Brain (my hometown) ) and everything was good, I was awake (always something good), I felt good, and I was happy. The only thing wrong was that I was feeling some migraine pre-feelings and I hadn’t found my migraine pills. Anyways, I stopped Sofia and C to pick up my purse (I left it there after the evening of wine) and when I got there they seemed to have some problems of their own, their plumbing seemed to have become busted (poor them, I feel really bad). Anyways, as soon as I get down the stairs, my shoes (a favorite pair) break. Yeah, they broke, the heal of the shoe is made of wood it just cracked in two, where by one part just started flapping about and it made it quite hard to walk. So, having no choice what so ever I had to get my self to a store and buy myself a new pair of shoes…

The only sad part of the story is that, the shoes that broke are a favorite pair, they are a pair of shoes that my mom used in the begining of the 80-s, and I really liked them. I guess they ment alot to me because of the nostalgic-feeling to them.

I’ll put up pictures of my new babies and my old babies, as soon as I get home.

Do you send postcards at Easter? Yeah, but just a couple.
What would be the ultimate Easter gift this year? I don’t want any Easter presents,I don’t usually give or receive gifts at Easter.

Beer glas at IKEA

A certain little brother of mine is graduating this summer and A and I were thinking about buying him some “real” beer jugs, however I don’t really think he’ll appreciate the glasses, since he isn’t really the type of person to realize what he’ll want in the future. So we decided that we’d get him some glasses, that weren’t real and not so expensive, but glasses that he can use in University, when he has his soccer and beer nights.

At IKEA I found these tall, kinda cool glasses, that are perfect for a good glass of beer. What do you guys think? Will he like them?

I watched Thank you for Smoking yesterday, and I’m sorry to say that it doesn’t actually dignify a blog entry. It was probably the crapiest movie I’ve seen in a really long time. I didn’t really get the point of the movie either, I mean I’m usually not stupid, but it didn’t really make any sence. And it wasn’t even funny, just a waste of 92 minutes of my life

DKNY Be Delicious perfume

I’m thinking about buying a new perfume, and I’m thinking about DKNY Be Delicious or DNKY Red Delicious. Is there anyone that has them and can tell me if these feel summery and fresh?

Be Delicious - cucumber, white muguet, violet, magnolia, apple, grapefruit, tuberose, woods and rose.

Red Delicious - fresh apples, raspberries, vanilla and patschuli.

21 Jump Street

I was too young to watch the show, 21 Jump Street, when it ran, but I’ve seen several of the episodes afterwards. Now I had the good fortune of finding the first two seasons to download, and hopefully I’ll find the other 3. It is so much fun, if you guys haven’t seen it I really think you should, if you like cop shows with a lot of humor and pretty much always ends happily. Also a young Johnny Depp is one of the main actors, and that isn’t a bad thing.

Project #1 - Drink more water

I have a couple of project ideas that I’ve decided that I wanted to try just to see what happens. I’m very curious by nature and I like finding out what happens if I do this or if I do that. You may think it’s childish but trust me it makes me happy and that is actually all that counts I happen to be one of those people that get very excited by cheap thrills, you know mundane, boring stuff to some, exciting ideas for me

Project plan: My first project is quite a simple one actually, it is to….*drum-roll please*…make sure to drink at least 2 liters of water each day. Yep that is it that’s the whole project. It ain’t to difficult and it shouldn’t be one of the projects that are hard to complete. I have this water bottle that I basically carry around with me everywhere (even before The Project) and most of the time it is actually empty, but I’ve decided that if I fill it 4 times with water I will be able to drink at least 2 liters of water.

Theory: Water is said to be one of those magic elements that you should make sure to make a habit of using, as a daily minimun you should drink 2 liters of water each day. However most of us ingest this amount of water through food and other drinks such as coffe or tea.

For example it is said that water to be the best tool for a great complection also it cleans out your body from toxins and other scary stuff.

Procedure: Drink 0.5 L of water when I wake up and carry filled bottle of water with me at all times. I shouldn’t drink the 2 liters in one sitting rather throughout the day.

Results: There will be charts and fancy analysis, so don’t you worry

Side note: If I had the chance I would only drink Aqua Terrena bottled water, but since I can’t find it here in Uppsala, one of the bottles (that I bought in Gotland last summer) will do for now (I’m smart enough to be able to trick my self into believing that it’s the real deal)

Crossing of the list

I have a wish-list, it can be found here, where I write down things that I want. It’s stuff that either could be good presents or stuff that I will buy myself when I get the opportunity. I felt that since I usually have a difficult time deciding what I want for present, that I would put them on-line once I find them, so that I won’t forget them. It is pretty good for my friends and family too since they always have my updated wish-list available. Yesterday I could cross of a Christmas Stamp, cause I found it cheap. I like it when I find it cheap, I mean it doesn’t hurt .

It looks like the one in the picture on the right, with the GOD JUL (Merry Christmas in Swedish) stamp. Now I just need to buy the sealing wax, to be able to use the stamp for the Christmas gifts later on this year.

One week til vacation

On Saturday we are of to more northern latitudes, my fiance, his family and I will be going to the snowy north to ride scooters and enjoy the winter.

I hope the snow won’t have disappeared to much. I have lots of to do before leaving, I hope I have time to finish it all.

Update: Apparently my baby doesn’t think I’m telling you the whole truth, since he says that scooters aren’t scooters, but snow mobiles, boring

This weekend has been spent preparing for the job hunting experience. My dad and I have written a new CV and personal letter. Its been hard work, very hard work. And we have had lots of words We even had time to send a few applications. I’m keeping my fingers crossed

Ett foto i timmen (EFIT)/One photo each hour

This is the first time I try EFIT, it seems like a fun concept to do about once a month. The whole thing is basically like the name says, take one photo each hour of the day. I guess it doesn’t have to be each hour, but as much as you can. You can read more about it here; that is if you speak Swedish

So here we go, for the first time ever EFIT

06:42: Wake up time. I’m at my parents house so I’m sleeping in their guest room. And of course since I’m a marathon runner in my sleep, the bed looks like a bomb site when I wake up. And of course, before I go to the bathroom I turn on my baby

07:48: Checking e-mails and watching some nature program on TV. Euw…look at my computer screen its filthy. Computer in bed, great.

08:47: The weather outside sucks big time, rain, which makes the snow melt away. I don’t want to go outside today. Good for me that I might not have to.

09:41: In the kitchen with my mom. Talking and enjoying her company, while she makes dinner ready, since she won’t be home later today. You guys should have smelt this chicken, it smelled amazing!

10:53: Breakfast a lite late today, but it still tasted good. Strawberry yoghurt, an egg and Apple-cinnamon tea. Yummy.

11:50: My mom and I are baking chocolate chip cookies. The cookies turned out perfect. Very big and very yummy. We used the same recipe that I used the other day, but my mom used real chips instead of white chocolate and peanuts.

12:49: On the computer again. Blogging and working. I use my baby all day long! Right now I’m sitting at the kitchen table while my mom is ironing.

13:59: Still working on the computer, however now I have now moved back into the guest room. My mom is gone so it’s only me and my brother home. He is studying and comes in and askes me questions all the time. I’m working, planning, blogging, finding information, booking events and searching for jobs. Also I’m fixing with our scarves business, making sure things are sent and money has come in.

14:42: The toilette repair man has been here and changed the leaking toilette to the new much improved toilette. Isn’t it pretty.

15:42: Working with the scarves, to make sure that they all look good, ironed and folded nicely. The scarves are wrapped and placed into a package, which will be sent to the klient. Taking some more pictures to be able to uploaded.

16:39: Some music in the afternoon is always good. Working with the computer while listening to music and making sure that all of the days work is done.

17:45: Checking the plans for my babies kitchen. We are planning to put up shelves and this very coarse drawing helps us plan what we are going to do.

18:46: Dinner - tuna salad.

19:43: Coffee after dinner. I’m going to lye down since my headache, that I’ve had for about 4 days now, is getting the best of me.

LORAC Cheek Stamp

Has anyone tried the LORAC Cheek Stamp? I’m kind of impressed about what I think it can do, but I’m not quite sure that I’m actually getting the whole idea, maybe I think it’s some wonderous rouge but infact it’s Crap with a capital C. Help! anyone?

After dinner walk

Just got home from an after dinner walk, it feels good, I’m just way to tired to appreciate the rush that a brisk walk gives you…sadness!

Salmon and vegetables

I made oven baked vegetables and salmon today. It was very yummy! At least according to me. It was really simple to make but very tasty and I surely recommend it.

I basically chopped squash, aubergine, paprika (bell peppers), red onion and mushroom into bite size pieces. Put them into an oven pan, season with lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper and rosemary. Place in the oven, heat 225 C for about 20 minutes. Mean while take your salmon (without bone and skin), season with lemon-pepper and cover with a mixture of feta cheese and Kesella (not quite sure what Kesella is in English, but it’s basically like sour cream but much lighter). When the vegetables have been in the oven for 20 minutes, decrease the heat to 175 C and place the salmon on top of the vegetables. Place in the oven again for about 20-30 minutes. Check that the salmon is whitish in color and that the aubergine is soft. If there is any feta mixture left then place it in a bowl on the side, to add if needed.

If this doesn’t seem like enough food, you can always add potatoes to the vegetable mixture.

Truly recomended! Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the food so I can’t show you what the end result looks like, but trust me, it’s worth trying.

I love the fact that my baby likes clothes, and that he likes dressing well, but I want to have more clothes and I want to be the one that does the most shopping!?!

Visum revisited

I miss having an animal of my own. I’m an animal person, I’ve always had animals and now I don’t, and I miss it really bad. Last summer we were fortunate enough to be sitters for a german shepard named Visum (pictured). It reminded me of how much I miss curling up in the couch with my animals and just enjoying their company. My baby and I are planning to have an animal as soon as everything calms down. We will probably get a german shepard. That would make us both very happy. Until then I will have to keep my memory of all of my animals fresh in mind and as much as I can visit with friends and family that have animals.

I mean, can you actually look at this picture without wanting to just pinch his cheeks.

Right now I’m actually thinking of getting myselg a smaller animal so that I won’t feel so lonely, I’m thinking of a budgerigar. I had several as a young child and I loved thier company. Since we/I live in an apartment we don’t really have the place to have a dog or a cat, I guess something small would be good.

*whining* I want a doggy NOW…gi’me, gi’me, gi’me, gi’me….

Malaysian Steamboat

Just after Christmas we gathered as a family to enjoy each others company and to enjoy just being together. There are six of us in my immediate familj, my parents, my fiance, my brother and his girlfriend and me. However my family is actually much bigger; I’m truly lucky to have a very large family that I love and can depend on. So when I say that the family gathered I this time mean that my dads cousin and her husband came too.

For dinner we had Steamboat, which is basically a a Malay fondue on broth, where you boil what ever ingredients you want. This time we used pieces of chicken, shrimps, lobster, fish, mushrooms, mussels and calamari rings. It is a really nice food to gather around because it takes quite some time to eat and it is something that can be enjoyed by all. You can use whatever ingredients you want, the time of boiling is just different. I love this food, it is light and very health at the same time it tastes great and it is a great family activity. It is quite easy, but piece of meat on skewer and place in broth, wait till boiled and then enjoy! If you haven’t tried this, please do, you will love it! It is amazing!

Roasted spicy peanuts - Nut toss

This weekend was a cooking weekend. We tried some old favorites and we tried some new recipies. Some weren’t worth talking about but some are. Like our roasted nuts. I took peanuts and placed them in a warm frying pan, then I seasoned them with spices such as paprika powder, chili powder, strong chili and ancho chili (the amount is different from person to person). Then I let the nuts roast (careful not to burn the nuts) for acout 10 minutes. The nuts become quite soft. Let them rest for 10 minutes and the harness of the nuts come back as well as a stingy flavor. Very very yummy! Much more fun that plain peanuts or just bought chili nuts.

Vanor & Ovanor

Homemade cheeseburger

For dinner on Saturday night we made our famous burgers. These burgers make our mouth water each time we think about them. Usually we eat roasted rosemary and garlic french fries with the burger but since we weren’t that hungry we chose just to make the burgers. And to tell the truth, my Baby made the burgers, and I just helped. The burgers are soooo his masterpiece As you can se on the picture above the burgers are oozy and the kind that you don’t eat with utensils (by the by burgers that should be eaten with utensils should be baned )

So the burger includes bought hamburger bread (unfortunately the bread was just a tad bit too big for the burgers), 2 bought meat patties, sallad, homemade Ajvar Relish, onion slices, cheese and chili ketchup. It was amazing!

You guys should try making you own burgers instead of going to McDees or any other burger chain (even if they have great burgers).

Chocolate chip cookies

Chocolate chip cookies are always yummy, it doesn’t really matter if they are made or if they are bought, they are yummy. When I was a kid I loved Chip O’hoy cookies, you know the really small kind. They made both me and my little brother really happy. So whenever I want to bake, usually I know I want to bake, but not what. I always go through my shortlist to see if it might be one of the favorites that could tickle my fancy. One of the favorites is therefore homemade chocolate chip cookies. Whenever I’m at my babies house I bake, and I bake alot, cause I don’t get to bake at home, since the kitchen in my dorm sucks monkey-butt. So guess what I baked? Yes, you got it, Chocolate chip cookies.

Update: I forgot to write that you need 1 1/2 cup brown sugar in the mixture! Sorry about that.

Hemmagjord pizza King of the Sea Gorgonzola delight

Being with my baby brings out the will to cook, to make extravagant meals or just to imagine new concoctions. Friday night felt like a perfect night for homemade pizza, not to extravagant or new, but appreciated. We have both decided that making pizza is much much yummier, healthier and much more economical. Seriously there is nothing better than homemade pizza, you can put whatever you want on it and you know exactly what is in the pizza. And the case of the Chow-Chow pizza will never happen again. Trust me you don’t want to know. Anyways, we made 2 different pizzas so that my baby could have lots of pizza in the freezer for lunch or dinner.

Basic pizza recipe (4 portions, which is basically for one oven pan - so we make 2x the recipes for our pizzas)

1 packet fresh yeast (50 g)
2 1/2 dl warm water (37 Celsius)
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp oil, preferably olive oil
5-6 dl flour

Crumble the yeast, add water, salt, oil and half of the flour. Knead the dough and add the rest of the flour. Knead for 5 minutes. Leave the dough to rise under a towel for about 1 hour (it should rise to double the size). If you want to prepare the dough before you can take only half the paket of yeast (25 g) and let rise for 6-8 hours in a cool place. Using an oven pan, cover it with a thin layer of oil and then spread the dough all over the pan.

Tomato sauce (for 2 pans of pizza):

3 cans of chopped tomatoes
1 yellow onion
Olive oil
Spices: Oregano, Basil, Paprika, Black Peppar

Fry the chopped onion in the olive oil. Add the tomatoes and spices. Boil till thickened.

Topping 1: “King of the Sea”

1 can of tuna (in water)
chopped black olives
1 chopped red onion
200 g chopped feta cheese
a couple sun dried tomatoes
grated Cheese of your choice

Take half of the tomato sauce and add the can of tuna. Mix. Place the tomato sauce on the dough (1 pan). Add the rest of the ingredients in any order, except for the grated cheese, that should be placed on the top. Sprinkle dried oregano and basil on top.

Topping 2: “Gorgonzola delight”

Garlic salami
chopped yellow onion
sliced fresh mushrooms
small chunks of Gorgonzola
Grated cheese

Take the other half of the tomato sauce and spread over the dough. Add the other ingredients with the grated cheese on top. Sprinkle with oregano and basil.

Place the pizza in the oven 250 for about 10 minutes.

Bye bye Uppsala

I’m of to visit my fiance today. Since he lives about 300 km from me it takes me about 3 hours by buss and train to get there. And I actually pretty much hate buss rides since I get enormously carsick. But it is all worth it. Because this weekend we are celebrating our 2 years together.
